Doveva essere manifestazione e manifestazione è stata.
A dispetto dei divieti, del terrorismo del governo e dei media ad esso asserviti, dei check-point alle stazioni e sulle autostrade, delle centinaia di fermi arbitrari, dei 38 fogli di via emessi in tempo reale dalla Questura di Roma, le quasi 10 mila persone che ieri hanno progressivamente affollato Piramide (sfidando anche l’immancabile temporale che ha accompagnato la prima ora di concentramento) sono una risposta chiara, netta, inequivocabile ai signori della guerra che siedono a Palazzo Chigi e da un anno esatto vomitano odio in dosi industriali contro chiunque si oppone alla loro complicità prima col genocidio sionista a Gaza, ora con i massacri che il regime razzista e suprematista di Israele sta compiendo anche in Libano.
La tonnara predisposta in piazza dal duo Meloni-Piantedosi si è riempita a tal punto che lo spazio a disposizione per il “presidio” riusciva a malapena a contenere le migliaia di manifestanti, e ha fatto si che la rabbia verso i divieti aumentasse proporzionalmente all’aumento dell’affluenza.
In questo contesto, data la inamovibile decisione della polizia di vietare il corteo, era inevitabile che l’ira e la tensione della piazza sfociassero in momenti di tensione.
Bene hanno fatto i promotori della manifestazione ( GPI e UDAP su tutti) a sfruttare a loro favore il richiamo mediatico della giornata, spiegando in una conferenza stampa indetta in concomitanza con il concentramento le ragioni della mobilitazione e i motivi per cui l’essere contro il genocidio a Gaza comporta obbligatoriamente il prendere posizione a sostegno della resistenza palestinese, unico vero “antidoto” a 80 anni di crimini e di pulizia etnica perpetrata senza soluzione di continuità da Israele sulla terra di Palestina e sulla popolazione palestinese.
E bene ha fatto la Rete Liberi/e di lottare (di cui come TIR siamo tra i promotori assieme ai disoccupati 7 novembre e al laboratorio politico Iskra), a sostenere sin dal primo momento con fermezza e in ogni circostanza questa manifestazione: tanto più perché essa si è andata configurando come il primo banco di prova nell’era del Ddl 1660, di quello che definiamo un vero e proprio stato di polizia instaurato per via parlamentare.
Il nostro spezzone, composto da molte centinaia di compagni/e, lavoratori (in larga parte del SI Cobas, venuti da Napoli, Torino, Roma, Genova e Piacenza), disoccupati, studenti e attivisti/e, ha voluto mettere in evidenza come i divieti contro la piazza palestinese sono parte integrante di un’offensiva reazionaria tesa a negare la minima agibilità a ogni forma di protesta e di lotta contro lo stato di cose presenti, siano esse un corteo, uno sciopero vero e non solo mimato, una denuncia dell’inutilità e dannosità delle grandi opere o dei piani di devastazione ambientale, un’ occupazione delle scuole o un’occupazione di casa…
Al di là dell’ ottimo dato numerico della partecipazione, i segnali più confortanti di questa giornata sono venuti dai contenuti espressi negli interventi e negli slogan prevalenti in piazza: su tutti il no alla guerra e all’economia di guerra, l’opposizione ai piani repressivi del governo e la totale disillusione rispetto alle opposizioni parlamentari, da un lato mute (quando non apertamente complici) dei macellai sionisti, dall’altro immobili di fronte al Ddl sicurezza, salvo qualche sporadica dichiarazione stampa e qualche ancor piu sporadica piazza lanciata giusto per salvarsi la coscienza (vedi 25 settembre); in realtà del tutto in linea con la necessità dei padroni, e del grande capitale per primo, di restringere brutalmente gli spazi di lotta e di conflitto sociale.
A chi da più punti di vista per oscurare il valore di questa manifestazione ingigantisce i fatti sfruttando cinicamente quanto avvenuto in piazza, a chi già in queste ore tenta di “sbattere il mostro in prima pagina”, rispondiamo che chi semina odio, disprezzo e violenza verso gli sfruttati e gli oppressi, è destinato inevitabilmente a raccogliere, prima o poi, i frutti di quanto semina…
Per quel che ci riguarda, consideriamo la piazza di ieri come un primo round di una campagna d’autunno attraverso la quale puntiamo a ricostruire quel filo rosso anticapitalista e internazionalista, necessario per fermare il genocidio delle masse palestinesi, e con esso i piani di guerra di questo governo e dei suoi sodali occidentali della NATO e dell’Unione europea.
Da questo punto di vista ha un particolare significativo il supporto internazionale e la solidarietà che ci sono arrivati anzitutto dall’ Argentina, e poi anche da organizzazioni, siti e singoli compagni/e della Germania, del Regno Unito, della Svizzera e della Francia, consapevoli del valore internazionale di questa nostra iniziativa contro il DDL 1660, che è in perfetta continuità con tutto ciò che abbiamo fatto negli ultimi anni contro le guerre del capitale e l’economia di guerra.
Si tratta ora di proseguire sulla strada tracciata il 5 ottobre, a partire dal prossimo sciopero generale lanciato dal SI Cobas venerdì 18 ottobre, dalla manifestazione nazionale a Roma per il giorno successivo contro il ddl 1660, e del corteo del 28 ottobre a Napoli in occasione del maxi-processo contro i disoccupati organizzati del Movimento 7 novembre.
Questi appuntamenti di piazza vanno accompagnati e intervallati da un lavoro di denuncia e agitazione nelle singole città, che passa per la settimana di mobilitazioni su scala territoriale dal 14 al 19 ottobre lanciata dalla Rete Liberi/e di lottare, ivi comprese quelle contro il G7 dei ministri della difesa, leggi: della guerra, che si terrà proprio in quel weekend a Napoli.

From the Palestinian Resistance Square an Angry and Mass Response to the Police State
It was decided to be a demonstration, and it has been a demonstration.
In spite of the bans, the terrorism of the government and the media subservient to it, the check-points at stations and on the highways, the hundreds of arbitrary stops, the 38 expulsion orders issued in real time by the Rome Police Headquarters, the almost 10 thousand people who yesterday progressively crowded the Pyramid (also defying the inevitable storm that accompanied the first hour of concentration) are a clear, unequivocal answer to the warlords who sit in Palazzo Chigi and for exactly one year have been spewing hatred in industrial doses against anyone who opposes their complicity first with the Zionist genocide in Gaza, now with the massacres that the racist and supremacist regime of Israel is also carrying out in Lebanon.
The tuna fishery set up in the square by the Meloni-Piantedosi duo was filled to such an extent that the space available for the “garrison” could barely contain the thousands of demonstrators, and caused an anger towards the bans increasing proportionally to the increase in turnout.
In this context, given the immovable decision of the police to ban the march, it was inevitable that the anger and tension of the square would lead to moments of tension.
The promoters of the demonstration (GPI and UDAP above all) did well to exploit the media terrorism on the day in their favor, explaining in a press conference called in conjunction with the concentration the reasons for the mobilization and the reasons why being against the genocide in Gaza necessarily implies taking a stand in support of the Palestinian resistance, the only real “antidote” to 80 years of crimes and ethnic cleansing perpetrated without interruption by Israel on the land of Palestine and on the Palestinian population.
And the Free to Struggle Network (of which we as TIR are among the promoters together with the unemployed November 7 and the Iskra political laboratory) did well to support this demonstration firmly and in all circumstances from the very beginning: all the more so because it has been shaping up as the first test bench in the era of the 1660 Bill, of what we call a real police state established by parliamentary means.
Our section, made up of many hundreds of comrades, workers (mostly from the SI Cobas, who came from Naples, Turin, Rome, Genoa and Piacenza), the unemployed, students and activists, wanted to highlight how the bans against the Palestinian square are an integral part of a reactionary offensive aimed at denying the slightest viability to any form of protest and struggle against the present state of things, whether they are a march, a real strike (and not just mimed), a denunciation of the uselessness and harmfulness of major works or plans for environmental devastation, an occupation of schools or an occupation of the house…
Beyond the very good numerical data of participation, the most comforting signs of this day came from the contents expressed in the speeches and slogans prevalent in the square: above all the no to war and the war economy, the opposition to the repressive plans of the government and the total disillusionment with the parliamentary opposition, on the one hand mute (when not openly complicit) of the Zionist butchers, on the other hand, immobile in the face of the Security Bill, except for a few sporadic press statements and some even more sporadic squares launched just to save their conscience (see 25 September); in reality completely in line with the need of the bosses, and of big capital in the first place, to brutally restrict the spaces of struggle and social conflict.
To those who, from several points of view, in order to obscure the value of this demonstration, exaggerate the facts by cynically exploiting what happened in the square at the conclusion of the demonstration, to those who are already trying to “slam the monster on the front page”, we reply that those who sow hatred, contempt and violence towards the exploited and oppressed, are inevitably destined to reap, sooner or later, the fruits of what they sow…
As far as we are concerned, we consider yesterday’s square as a first round of an autumn campaign through which we aim to rebuild that anti-capitalist and internationalist red thread, necessary to stop the genocide of the Palestinian masses, and with it the war plans of this government and its Western associates of NATO and EU.
From this point of view, has a special meaning the international support and solidarity that we have received first of all from Argentina, and then also from organizations, sites and individual comrades from Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and France, aware of the international value of our initiative against the 1660 bill, which is in perfect continuity with everything we have done in recent years against the wars of capital and the economy of war.
It is now a matter of continuing on the path traced on October 5, starting with the next general strike launched by the SI Cobas on Friday 18 October, the national demonstration in Rome for the following day against the 1660 bill, and the demonstration on October 28 in Naples on the occasion of the maxi-trial against the organized unemployed of the November 7 Movement.
These street appointments must be accompanied and interspersed with a work of denunciation and agitation in the individual cities, which passes through the week of mobilizations on a territorial scale from 14 to 19 October launched by the Free to Struggle Network, including those against the G7 of defense ministers, read: ministers of war, which will be held that weekend in Naples.
